This is a good-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid and completely dry. There are a few cracks. Consistent diameter throughout with plenty of reserves on both ends. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The colour of the ivory is white.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
This round mammoth tusk piece is not stabilised and / or filled with epoxy. Please note that none of our mammoth ivory is artificially stabilised and / or restored unless explicitly stated.
