This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid without cracks. There is one tiny, non-penetrating fissure on the edge of the thicker cross-cut section. Consistent width with reserves on both ends. The colour of the bark is beige.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
This beige mammoth bark is not stabilised and / or filled with resin. Please note that none of our mammoth ivory is artificially stabilised and / or restored unless explicitly stated.
